Please, review the contradictions below. Please free free to schedule an appointment for consultation so we can go over any unique situation/questions you may have.
The following restrictions are to ensure your skin is in the best possible condition for an amazing procedure. Please read carefully:
4 weeks before your appointment:
DO NOT get the following treatment:
Botox or other fillers Chemical Peels Laser treatments 7 days before your appointment:
DO NOT be exposed to heavy sunlight, especially sunburn. Your skin should not be in the process of healing before procedure.
DO NOT pluck, wax, thread or receive any hair removal services. This can also trigger the skin healing process and should be avoided!
DO NOT use Retinol / Retin-A or other anti aging/ acne creams.
DO NOT apply any serum containing acid 48 hours prior to your appointment:
DO NOT take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen, omega-3, unless medically necessary (Tylenol or Acetaminophen is okay!)
Must be at least 18 years old (No exceptions)
Pregnant, nursing, harvesting eggs, or trying to get pregnant. (No Exceptions)
Must wait 2-3 months after delivery &/or 2-3 months after nursing to schedule
Prone to keloids (No exceptions)
Heart Conditions/Pacemaker/Defibrillator (No exceptions)
Alopecia Areata (Hair loss due to autoimmune disease)
Shingles-Have you EVER had shingles on your face (No exceptions)Cosmetic Tattoo will not be performed as the procedure could cause a flare-up close to the eyes which may lead to blindness.
Eczema, Psoriasis, or Dermatitis in or around the brow area (No exceptions)(Constant flaking/itching/irritation/shedding of skin)
Hemophilia-Bleeding Disorder (No exceptions)
Platelet Disorders - Aggregation Disorders (No Exception)An aggregation disorder is when platelets do not bind with fibrinogen and other proteins in order to stick toother platelets. As a result, the platelets cannot form a plug to stop the bleeding from a damaged blood vessel.
Graves' Disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis (No Exception)
On Accutane (acne medicine) within the last 12 months (No exceptions)
Autoimmune Disorder of any kind ( Multiple sclerosis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, Type 1 Diabetes or the like) (No Exception)
Active Cancer of any kind or if they had chemotherapy/radiation within the last 6 months (Will require a note from your doctor giving consent for the procedure)
Ever had permanent makeup (microblading included) on eyebrows before (in person consultation is recommended)
Any scars or experienced any head trauma in the brow area (In person consultation is recommended)
If you take any of these medications, bleeding might occur and the pigment WILL NOT retain :
Triflusal (Disgren)
Clopidogrel (Plavix)
Prasugrel (Effient)
Ticagrelor (Brilinta)
Ticlopidine (Ticlid)
Cilostazol (Pletal)
Vorapaxar (Zontivity)
Dipyridamole (Persantine)
Coumadin
Pradaxia (dibigatran)
Xarelto (rivaraxaban)
Eliquis (apixaban)
Xarelto (rivaraxaban)
Eliquis (apixaban)
Savaysa (edoxaban)
Surgical Forehead/Browlift (scar on the brow area)(Scar tissue will prevent proper healing, in person consultation is recommended)
Trichotillomania (Compulsive puling of body hair)(Due to constant pulling, scar tissue is prominent and pigment will not heal properly)
Retin-A/Retinol use or Vitamin A Oral Supplements(Must stop use 30 days before the procedure)
Large pores on your forehead & in the brow area(Pigment might heal patchier)
Menopause (Considered)If you have hot flashes during the procedure, the pigment may not retain.
Moles/raised areas in or around the brow area(Pigment will not be put into anything raised. The same goes for pimples)
Piercing in the brow area(Scars can cause the pigment to migrate)
Deep wrinkles in the brow area(Pigment will not lay properly in the creases, giving the brow an uneven look)
Hair transplant for eyebrows(Pigment will not take in the scar tissue where the plugs were placed)
Thyroid conditions(Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism - pigment might not retain or may fade faster)
Rosacea (diagnosed severe reddening of the face)Due to hypersensitivity, the skin does not take the pigment well
Fitzpatrick Skin types I & ll (redheads/natural blondes/light skin/light eyes)Due to hypersensitivity, the skin does not take the pigment well
MRSA (can be very contagious)
Extremely Thin skin (Transparent or Translucent or very vascular)Due to hypersensitivity, the skin does not take the pigment well
Frequent Exercise (5-7 days per week)Due to the frequent production of sweat (salt), the pigment WILL NOT retain, fade very quickly or change in color. THIS WILL HAPPEN No additional touch-ups will be performed earlier than 12 months after the lastprocedure to avoid skin trauma if it happens.
